Thornbury Research Institute is an independent research institute. Retail traders take part in structured studies about the brokers and trading platforms they use. This policy explains what personal information we collect from panel members and site visitors, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Research findings are reported in aggregate. Clients receive percentages, distributions, and anonymized verbatims — never your name, contact details, or account information. We only attribute a quote to you by name with your separate written release.
Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we process your data on the basis of your consent (study participation, recordings, communications) and our legitimate interests (operating and securing the platform). In Canada, we comply with PIPEDA; elsewhere we honor applicable local privacy laws in the markets we operate in.
We keep panel profiles while your membership is active. Study recordings and transcripts are kept for as long as needed to support the research they were collected for, then deleted or anonymized. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time (which won't affect prior lawful processing). Leaving the panel is always available and takes effect immediately for future studies.
We operate across English-speaking markets, so your information may be processed outside your home country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Study data is stored encrypted, access is limited to the research team, and recordings are held on access-controlled systems.
Thornbury Research Institute is for adults. You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live) to join the panel.
