These terms govern your use of the Institute's site and your participation in the Thornbury research panel. By registering interest or taking part in a study, you agree to them.
You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live), able to enter a binding agreement, and provide accurate information about yourself and your trading experience.
Registering interest adds you to the research panel; it does not guarantee study invitations. Each study invitation states its scope, tasks, expected time, and compensation before you accept. Participation in any study is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time.
Compensation is per completed study, as stated in the study brief, and is payable only for good-faith, complete participation. You are responsible for any taxes on amounts you receive.
Some studies are recorded (audio/video) and transcribed; we will tell you before recording starts and record only with your consent. You grant the Institute the right to use your study responses to produce research, reported in aggregate or with anonymized verbatims. We only attribute a quote to you by name under a separate written release.
Thornbury Research Institute is a research institute. Nothing on this site or in any study, report, or communication is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, or an invitation to trade any instrument or use any platform. Trading involves risk, including loss of capital.
Platforms commission and pay for studies; methodology, questions, and published findings remain under the Institute's control. Participating does not create employment, agency, or partnership between you and the Institute or any client.
The site and reports are the Institute's. Feedback you give us about Thornbury Research Institute itself may be used without obligation. Your study responses are handled per section 5 and our Privacy Policy.
You can leave the panel at any time. We may remove panel members who breach these terms or provide bad-faith responses; earned compensation for properly completed studies remains payable.
The site is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Institute's liability arising from panel participation is limited to the compensation payable for the study concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts sitting in Toronto, Ontario.
We'll post updated terms here and, for material changes, notify panel members by email. Contact: support@thornburyresearch.com.
